Mahendra Singh Dhoni was in the spotlight of the cricketing world on Tuesday as India faced Afghanistan in a Super Fours match of the ongoing Asia Cup 2018. It was the 200th time that Dhoni was captaining the Indian cricket team as Rohit Sharma decided to rest out the match.

While innumerable fans and pundits from around the world applauded as the great man led the Indian team out to the field on Tuesday, there’s a congratulatory post by Cricket Australia (CA) that contains some rather interesting details about MSD.

CA shared a video on its official Facebook page on Wednesday, in which George Bailey expresses his views on Dhoni to mark the legend’s 200th international match as captain. The Aussie middle-order batsman speaks about the time he has spent playing alongside Dhoni in the Indian Premier League (for the Chennai Super Kings), and he also sheds light on an interesting fact about ‘Captain Cool’.

Bailey reveals that Dhoni is a big fan of hookah and often sets up a sheesha station in his hotel room between matches. The Australian believes that this is Dhoni’s way of breaking the ice with youngsters in the team as his room is always full of team-mates.

“He likes smoking a bit of the sheesha or the hookah. He quite often would set that up in his room, and it was very much open to all policy. You would go in and quite often find a lot of younger players there (in Dhoni’s room with the hookah),” reveals Bailey.

“India, or possibly a lot of cricket teams, can be quite hierarchal, but he certainly broke that down. So you’d just find him in his room tale at night and everyone would be chatting, inevitably about different facets of the game. It was a great way to break down barriers,” he adds.
